League Tryouts Postponed due to rain, NOW February 2nd & 3rd

Tryouts must be postponed due to the rain in Long Beach. The new tryout dates are scheduled for February 3rd and 4th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at El Dorado Park (in the hockey rink next to the basketball court and skate park) located at 2800 Studebaker.

Must BRING YOUR OWN SKATES
have knee, elbow, wrist, helmet and mouthguard
proof of personal health insurance if we don’t have it already

Tryouts For 3rd Team Announced, January 27th & 28th

Tuesday 1/27 & Wednesday 1/28, LBRD is holding open tryouts for anyone who wants to join at El Dorado Park (2800 Studebaker, LB) from 6:30 to 8:30.

Coach Estro Jen and Coach Diesel will be teaching all sills covered in the tryout on Tuesday nights, at El Dorado. ALL skill levels welcome. We teach from the ground up. and back to the ground and up again.

We have loaner pads, courtesy of Moxi Roller Skate Shop. Just BYO skates or reach out on the message board to borrow someone’s extras. Not on the message board? Email moxiskates@gmail.com to get added.

A Third Team (name TBA) will be introduced shortly after tryouts.

On 4 nights a week you can find us at El Dorado Park’s hockey facility beside the basketball court and concrete skate park. The address is 2800 Studebaker in Long Beach. Scroll below for a map.

Sunday 6:30-8:30pm scrimmage night
(must pass skills assessments to participate)

Monday 7-9pm “4th Street Retro Rollers” Team Practice
(for Team members and those not on a team at all)

Tuesday 6:30-8:30pm League Practice
(ALL skill levels encouraged to attend)

Wednesday 7-9pm “Terminal Island Tootsies” Team Practice
(for Team members and those not on a team at all)

Not ready for derby but still want to skate?

Every Saturday our skate sponsor Moxi Roller Skates runs a FREE roller skating class for beginner’s at 10am.
Bring your own skates and protective gear is encouraged.
Meet at the bottom of the hill where Ocean meets Junipero, in the beach access parking lot.

October 31st (8pm-12am): We have been telling you that this fundraiser is going to be awesome! Well, the city of Long Beach disagreed and shut down the warehouse where the party was going to be held at. So, we have moved it to Ashley’s Bar & Grill instead! Ashley’s is located at 1731 E. 4th St. Long Beach 90802. D-Strutters will still be headlining and there will be plenty of babes and booze to fulfill your Halloween night of madness! So come on down and bring your friends, Help support LBRD! Costumes are strictly enforced.

Firday, September 19th is LBRD’s fundraiser at Que Sera in Long Beach. We have worked out a deal with Que Sera that proceeds will go to LBRD kitty for a deposit on our new LB Roller Derby home/BA Moto HQ. There will be raffles, booze, cupcakes and roller girls!
